The Royal Pita Maha Hosts Miss Universe 2008

The Royal Pita Maha had the pleasure to host Miss Universe 2008, the stunning Dayana Mendoza, for a private luncheon at the Terrace Restaurant during her recent visit to Ubud on 24 th August 2008.

Ms. Medoza spent several hours in the company of Mr.Tjokorda Gde Raka Sukawati, owner of the resort and highly respected member of the local royal family. Over lunch Ms. Mendoza had the opportunity to relax and appreciate the timeless beauty of the natural landscape in a setting elevated high over the Ayung River valley. Discussions were focused on how the village of Ubud manages to harmoniously combine culture and tourism.

During her visit Ms. Mendoza commented to senior members of The Royal Pita Maha’s managerial team that she felt inspired by the traditional Balinese architecture and nurturing ambience of property.

After lunch Ms. Mendoza and her entourage then travelled to the Ubud Palace to meet with senior members of the royal family. She was officially welcomed by the Prince Tjokorda Gde Putra Sukawati and Head of Gianyar Regency, Tjokorda Gde Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati.

Ms. Mendoza took a guided tour around the palace and was personally escorted by the Prince. She listened with great interest as the Price explained the unique attributes of Ubud and how all visitors are treated to gracious Balinese hospitality.
